Machine learning & culture clusters
HESCOR WP6 focuses on cultural clustering and machine learning to study cultural evolution in the context of climate change. This project involves designing feature vectors and cultural attributes for archaeological sites, utilizing clustering techniques like finite Gaussian mixture and fuzzy clustering, and employing machine learning to map cultural clusters in physical space and time. It also explores alternative methods, such as temporal graph-based techniques, and requires close collaboration with other HESCOR work packages. This initiative is fundamental to understanding the dynamics of cultural evolution within the changing climate framework.
